Bass on the fly is known around the world. From the US to Scandinavia, from poppers on the surface to belly boat fishing with a sinking line: the possibilities to catch these little hunters are endless.
It's difficult to indicate what the best way is to catch bass, because is very much depends on the water and the temperature. There are some generic pointers though: they are active predator fish (they won't lie still until something edible swims by like a pike does) and they can often be found where there's structure in the water. Look for poles, bends, jetties, fallen trees, etc. Don't worry about stripping fast, if they see a fly they want, they'll come and get it.

Discover the thrill of fly fishing with terrestrials! Learn techniques, best flies, gear, and tips for targeting many species with this exciting fly pattern.
Flies
There is nothing quite as exciting as fly fishing with poppers. Seeing a fish come and inhale your popper off the surface is just awesome. The take is so aggressive that it will leave your knees shaking as you set the hook!
Flies
In the category of flies known as streamers, the Woolly Bugger reigns supreme. Its popularity comes from its versatility โ it can be used to catch a wide range of species.
