A floating fly line is a fly line that... floats! 😃 Makes sense, doesn't it? Although it's still useful to explain, because there are other line types that don't float, or partially float.
Floating lines are typically indicated in an abbreviation with "F". For instance, an AFTMA 7 Weight Forward Floating fly line might be indicated as WF-7-F.
