AFTMA stands for the American Fishing and Tackle Manufacturers Association.
The AFTMA is a scale of line weights. The heavier the line, the higher the AFTMA number. Both your line and your rod will have this weight rating. Most of the time you would get a line weight that is the same as your rod weight: for a 5 weight rod you use a 5 weight line.
With an account you make suggestions, keep track of the rods you own, save favorites, stay up-to-date on the latest knowledge and much more.
