A Weight Forward fly line (abbreviated with WF fly line) is a fly line of which the first part, or the head, is thicker and more heavy, hence Weight Forward. It will load your rod with less line out, reducing the need for more false casts. After the WF part, the rest of the line (referred to as running line) has a uniform thickness.
Weight Forward lines are available in all different types: from floating to intermediate to DI9.
