Nestled in the heart of the Massif Central, Aveyron is one of the largest departments in France. This region's character is shaped by majestic landscapes, including the Aubrac plateau and deep valleys carved by the Truyère, Lot, Aveyron, and Tarn rivers.
In Aveyron, fly fishing in the Lot River is a rewarding experience. The northern parts are characterized by acidic waters, a result of the basaltic and granitic rocks that dominate the region. On the other hand, the southern areas present calcareous-origin translucent waters, necessitating discretion and refined fishing techniques.
