When the weather is really hot there is an alternative to wearing warm waders. You can just put on your shorts and footwear and get in the river. This is called wet wading because opposite to wearing waders you'll be getting wet.
When wet wading it's important to wear good footwear that gives you stability and protects your feet from rock and gravel. You can wear regular wading boots with separate gravel guards, or specific shoes made for going in the water.
