Guiding
Welcome to a outfitter for those passionate about fly fishing, Trout Trickers is about putting you where the fish are. Our seasoned veteran guides have a combined 187 years of river experience, together rowing over 105,000 river float miles. It’s this intimate knowledge that fuels our passion for client success, exceeding expectations on and off the river. We specialize in quality, not quantity, we will show up early extra prepared and also enthusiastically stay late to ensure your trip is the ultimate angling experience. Serving Vail, Colorado including Gore Creek, the Eagle, Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers and also Wyoming’s renown North Platte and Bighorn tail waters.
Float trips are the crown jewel of our offerings, popular among both novice and seasoned anglers. These trips provide a unique opportunity for beginners to grasp the essentials of fly fishing in the comfort and safety of a drift boat. Meanwhile, experienced anglers value the extensive reach these trips offer, covering more water than is possible for a wade fisherman in a day. Our guided float trips also provide exclusive access to private stretches of river, unreachable by foot. We primarily navigate the vibrant Colorado River and the powerful Roaring Fork River, with seasonal excursions to the Eagle River in the Vail Valley and the North Platte River in Wyoming. We ensure your comfort and safety in our sturdy hard-bottom drift boats or, when conditions demand, in inflatable fishing rafts.
For a more immersive experience, our wade trips are an excellent choice. These excursions are perfect for exploring local rivers, including smaller tributaries not accessible by boat. Wade fishing allows for a closer interaction with your guide, focusing on refining fly fishing techniques or exploring specific river stretches. It's an ideal way to sharpen your skills and pursue wild trout under the guidance of a seasoned professional. Our wade fishing adventures primarily occur in Gore Creek and the Eagle River within the Vail Valley. Additionally, we offer access to the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers, as well as Freemont Canyon on the North Platte River in Wyoming.
