Raised in the Taupo region, Jason spent his after-school hours mastering the art of fly fishing. With 30 years of experience fishing in Taupo, he's familiar with every hidden gem worth exploring. In 2010, he fulfilled his lifelong dream by becoming the owner and guide of TroutBeck Fishing Lodge.
Jason is a passionate, friendly, and professional guide who understands that fly fishing extends beyond simply landing fish—though rest assured, you will catch fish. Jason's goal is to provide each client with a memorable trip, teaching them how to locate fish and sharing useful tricks and tactics. His expertise and unique fly patterns are unmatched. He has an intimate understanding of where and when to fish, considering the season and conditions. An enthusiast of the back country, Jason loves venturing into untouched areas where fish rarely encounter humans.
