Double Davy Knot
Use case: tippet to fly
Developed as an enhancement to the Davy Knot, offering an extra layer of security, especially in scenarios where larger and stronger fish species are the target.
Step 1
Put the tippet, or end of the leader, through the eye of the fly
Step 2
Take the line and first loop it around it self, coming from the bottom. By doing this you have created a loop. Put the line through this loop from the top.
Step 3
Wrap the line around the loop and put it through again, this time coming from the bottom.
Step 4
The regular Davy knot would have ended here, but in the double Davy knot you again wrap the line around the loop, and around itself, then pull tight.
Step 5
Pull on the tag end to tighten the loop, and cut off any excess line.
