Water Loading (Water Haul)

Water Loading (Water Haul)

A casting technique used in fly fishing to generate the necessary line tension for a cast when there is limited space for a backcast. By letting the line's weight and tension on the water's surface load the rod, the angler can perform a forward cast without the need for a traditional backcast.
