Hi, thank you for visiting my shop!
My name is Bas van Dam and I’m from the Netherlands. I started fly fishing and fly tying at a very young age. At my 8th birthday, my parents gave me my first fly rod. What started as a nice way to catch some fish became an obsession. From the age of 16, I traveled all over the globe to catch trout and grayling. I fished in over 10 countries in Europe, in the east and the west of the USA and in the Canadian Rockies. Give me a clear trout steam and I'm happy.
Beside river fishing, I love fly fishing for sea trout in the Baltic sea and fly fishing for pike in the big lakes in The Netherlands.
From the beginning, I tie my own flies. I got my first commercial order when I was 18 years old; 1000 Red tags and 1000 Classic Pheasant Tail Nymphs. I don't know how I survived tying those numbers of the same patterns.
I'm specialized in tying Euro nymphs, matching the hatch Dry Flies, foam flies, Baltic sea trout flies and pike streamers.
