Shrimp imitations are often crafted using CDC, spey hackles, craft fur, and a variety of other materials. Yet, Nutria is one of my most cherished materials. Getting your hands on long Nutria hair is quite challenging, but when used it will render your shrimp remarkably lifelike in the water, unlike anything you've witnessed previously. The assembly of elongated Nutria at the forefront of the fly enables the shrimp to suspend in the water. This happens due to the rigidity of the extended Nutria fibers.
